Hi from sunny Melton Mowbray, where the roads are twisty and the pork pies are plentiful. Just got my first Triumph, a 1999 trophy 900. Mrs not happy as we had an FJR1300, (and she wanted another one) but a car made sure that would never ride again. Insurance paid up, and was wondering what to get, pondering over a tiger, but the trophy was to good condition to turn down (cant even ride yet as my shoulder was bust in the crash) but its there waiting for me in the garage:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

My old man had a sprint for years, then traded it in, his words "the worst mistake i ever made with a bike) still says he should have not got rid of it, and he's 68 now. But i do like my touring bikes, trouble is with the FJR, boxes of, screen down, throttle open, and at 140-150 mph i could loose my licence, plus i really fancied a brit bike (well now they know which side to put the gear leaver on) lol quite fancy a D1, but funds at the mo wont allow it.
Hi and welcome to the forum. Know Melton quite well and one of my favorite roads heads from there to Market Harborough. Hope your recovery is swift and you can get out and enjoy the new bike.
There is a beautiful part of that road that if you took a picture, you could make every biker jealous. Recovery will be helped by having the bike. cant wait to take her out, need to scrub the tyres in as they are a bit squared.

Welcome to the forum Megga Hope the body heals up quick so you can get back on the bike again soon. The old trophies are good old bikes, although I prefer the early ones to the later shape ones.
Hi. I'm just happy I have a triumph. I like the older ones to, did have a 79 bonnie many moons ago, but I hadn't passed my test, so although I got her running, I never got to ride it. Mind you it did get it for the bargain price of £200, and sold it for £1450 a week later, just put new HT leads and spark plugs.
I didn't actually mean the Meridan Trophies although they are really nice bikes I meant the early shape Hinckleys like this one :wink:
Dhooo, funny how (well to me) that the front fairing looks more modern than mine, but sorry to say, mine is a better blue than that one lol
Nope it's a 1991 1200 model which is currently on E Bay for £1500 and only done 14000 miles (bargin) :upyeah:
No worries its a fairly easy fix, just the valve clearances and make sure the sprag clutch is ok and you have a great bike. Fuel additives is the way forward.
