Hello everyone , Newbie from Rotterdam the Netherlands, a proud owner of a 2004 Daytona 600 (the fun bike). and also own a 2018 Suzuki SV650xa (daily bike). Still a junior driver (although I'm 40) got my license in November 2021.
Those are some agile bikes, well suited to urban as well as rural road riding. Do you spend much time riding in the city (daily commute)?
Welcome to the forum! Forty!! You are still a youth. I bought by Triumph in October: 2023 T120 Bonneville; it is my 9th cycle spread over my life; can't say enough about its build quality and performance; only have 170 miles on it due to winter weather; have fun!!
Huh, I'm not the only one to carry a Triumph in a [red] pickup. But, since I was towing a travel trailer, I had to close the tailgate (tight fit!).
Yep, mine was a tight fit but was able to close the tailgate; Frontier with an extended cab; day 1 of purchase in October from a dealer 60 miles away from home and was looking at storm clouds; made it home before the heavens opened up.

My Chev Silverado has the 6'-5'" (77"), but the Sprint GT and Trophy SE are 88" long! Hence the need to shimmy the rear tire into the corner of the bed. I use a Titan ramp (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00O4D4BRM?tag=mototourtips-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1) to ride the 600# or 662# bike up into the bed, and back it down. It's 39" wide to allow room to put my feet down as I back up. It works well, although a bit pricey ($700). How did you get your bike up into or down from the truck? It's a bit lighter, so if you have a few friends... How did you stabilize your front tire in the bed? I found that, no matter how much I compressed the front shocks, the tire tended to move around, at worst, threatening to have the bike diagonally in the bed! So I screwed two perpendicular pieces of 2x4, about 18" long, to a longer 2x4 that fit perfectly across the front of the truck bed. The front tire fits between the 18" arms and the front tire stays put! PS. I also have a 5x8 utility trailer with a ramp that I use when I don't tow the travel trailer.
Thanks guys for the warm welcome on the forum. The bike comes with a little story, it started with a silent love of seeing it years ago in the neighborhood and the thought of ever owning the bike. After getting my license started actively searching for it and found only one on the other end of the country, off course bought it with the pink glasses on. At home found out that it needed the necessary TLC to get it nice and smooth again. So last year it made more miles in my workshop then on the road. Entering the final bits , getting the fairing done in a paint shop and let it getting tuned. My intention with the bike is to keep it at least another twenty years on the road to enjoy. Regarding daily commuting, I work on a ship. So basically I have halve the year free time, in blocks of six weeks. In that way I can choose my time for riding and avoiding rush hour.
