Hello everyone! Newbie here. Just got my hands on my first project bike - 97 Adventurer! It's got some work needed to be road ready again, but I'm excited to get started. I'm sure I'll be asking a lot of questions in the future. Cheers,
Hi Mate & Welcome to the Forum Good luck with the project, don't forget to update us with progress & photos as you go.
Thank you everyone for the warm welcomes! I truly appreciate it as this is really uncharted territory for me. My brother (twin) and I have always wanted to get bikes together, rebuild them, and ride together so this is a new fun adventure for us both!
Enis Tezcan Welcome to the family. Great intro and fantastic project. Thanks for sharing. We will watch with interest on the rebuild. Regards Joe.
Update: So this past weekend I went ahead and started checking what was wrong (if anything) with the bike. And, I had immediately noticed that the exhaust looked different for some reason, than the manual indicated. After racking my brain for an hour or so, I looked at the engine and noticed that this bike had an engine swap at some point and is actually running a Daytona engine with a chrome 4-cylinder silencer exhaust. Battery works, electrical works. Just checked the fuses too and replaced them to new, and besides putting it back together now, I suspect it'll be road ready within this month/next month after getting new mirrors and a speedometer. Question/Opinions: Should I leave the original colors and painting on it, or switch it up to a solid black? I've always wanted to just have a bike all flat black before but am digging the way this currently looks.
Personally I'm a fan of the black but it's in the eye of the beholder. If that's what you always wanted then you probably won't regret it. I say go for it!
