Hi there, 48 year Old belgian bloke whom after 15 years off the saddle decided to get back on. So I bought myself a 1999 Trophy 900. Cosmetically it's in awesome shape but it's in need of some TLC on the valves, carburators and leaking petcock. It's running lean on pilot and I had a backfire wich as I understood can be attributed to the lean condition and/or valve clearance out of spec. So : - rebuild carburators and thorough clean - check valve clearance - rebuild petcock - change oil/oilfilter/airfilter/sparkplugs - replace rubbers on airbox whom got all hard from leaking fuel - replace fuel/vacuum hoses whom are to soft for my liking Cheers, Pascal
Metcalcat Welcome to the family. Thanks for sharing a picture of the steed with the inmates here in the asylum. Do put up some pictures of you repair jobs in the restoration section. Joe.
Thanks all for the warm welcome . Will be posting some stuff (that's not on youtube ) on the "rebuild" in the tech forum
