    Hi,

Just signed up this evening ahead of inheriting a bike from a relative - which will be my first Triumph. I wondered if anyone can help me with a query about exactly what model it is...

It’s a 2013 Bonneville (or at least was first registered in March 2013 so possibly MY12?) but it seems a fairly uncommon one. The only info I can find about it is on non-UK websites, which makes me question whether this model was ever actually sold in the UK, or if it’s an import?

It’s the model with the red frame and matte black and red paint, looks just like this one

    https://2012route66trip.com/2013/09/25/triumph-bonneville-se2-a2-2013-limited-edition-pictures/amp/

    Some sort of special edition?

Was this model sold in the UK or not, as I don’t wish to inadvertently mislead my insurance company if it’s an import.

What model is it closest to so I can check out the specs etc.?

Circumstances prevent me from seeing the V5 right now, but the bike is registered with the DVLA.

    Many thanks

    Joe

    Welcome Joe!

It looks like a regular Bonneville SE to me, with a custom paint job, and a couple of extra mods (shorter rear fender, lockable fuel cap, something else?).

    I could be wrong though.

Thanks everyone. I got a response from Triumph UK as well who told me...

This was a factory built special edition in 2013 called the Bonneville SE2 and was sold in both UK and abroad. 852 were built globally and just 102 for the UK market.

So nothing to worry about on the spec/type approval front. Just need to get my mitts on it now!
