    Wotcha All,
I took a liking to a piston and conrod and would like to identify what it came out of. Any ideas from any of our vintage owners?
I'm stumped as the big end bearings (shells) are nothing like I've seen in my excavations into engines.
Here's a few pics along with some dimensions

Nothing stamped on the crown, it's flat so low compression I think. Internally, as expected there is a maker's cast and number.

Hard to make out but it is H&G. George and Bill Hepworth of Hepworth and Grandage. Who became Associated Engineering in 1948ish. Ultimately Hepolite

So, any old end up, anyone have any ideas on what it came out of. The previous owner suggested Panther, Ariel etc or some vintage mark. I know BSA/Triumphused a 74mm ish dia piston but the big end is wrong for anything in my knowledge.

Nope, no one knows. So, just gave it a quick polish after a bit more rust remover and hung up on the wall. The diesel BMW one hangs just by the door and is easily removed (just in case).

The piston hangs just above a copy of a silver tank badge award given for action at the Battle of Bastogne to a crew member of a Jagdpanzer IV of the Elite Panzer Lehr Division in December 1944. The original field certificate and silver badge is tucked away in a drawer. History innit.
