Is it just me, or has anybody else noticed that Google ads have suddenly started to pop up all over this forum? I can't stand such ads, I don't want them and try to get rid of them whenever possible but Google seems to have infiltrated almost every space I go into. OK, I'm probably an old technophobic dinosaur but I object to being bombarded with ads which I don't want to see.

Rant over - another cup of coffee needed!

@Jimbo1950 No not had any yet. But like you I detest them. I have the premium membership on the forum and as Wayne promised it seems to do the trick

No ads here either. I think it must be the member thing. To have no ads is worth the fiver alone.

Google ads are ruining this forum so I've tried several times to join as a Premium Member. However, every time I've tried to join via the "Click here to subscribe" link on the Premium page, the connection to the Forum server times out with an error code 522, which according to Cloudflare is a problem with the host server, not with my browser or web connection.

Has anybody else come across this problem? Is there any way round it? If I can't get rid of the pesky Google ads I'll probably come off the Forum, which would be a shame because I've found it very useful.

Same here. Not a chance of my money supporting the absentee landlord. It's not that great on here as far as it goes.....

Don't use Chrome as your search engine. Use Edge or Duck-duck Go and install a decent ad-blocker.

Good call. Duckduck go has transformed the forum when viewed on my phone. :)

Ghostery is one of the best ad blocker there is. So named, presumably, because it's undetectable.
I use Duck Duck Go on my phone but Edge on my laptop. Edge is much better for ads than Chrome.

I don't get any ads at tall touch wood. I pay the joining fee here to be a full member and it seems to keep the ads away from me.
