The day wains and night enfolds. Snow sprouts like blossoms on the branches. The RS and Triple rest, their feet tucked in over the cold floor. Hope of spring is cherished. Winter to quickly pass. Looking forward to a great 2020 season.
Welcome to the madhouse you should fit right in. Great photo Well done the inmates will be pleased. Tucker
Hobnail Welcome to the family. Cool steeds those machines. You seem to be a bit of a poet aswel. Good to have one here in the asylum. Regards & Ride Safe Joe.
Thank you all for the kind words and encouragement. "Blessed is the man who expects nothing, for he shall never be disappointed, was the ninth beatitude" Alexander Pope to Fortescue 1725.
Welcome to a terrific forum and community, Hobnail. Lovely poetic introduction--along with a great photo of your bikes. Evidently it wasn't taken during the winter. I was born in Iowa and lived there 'til I was 7 then moved "way" up the road to southern Minnesota. I'm now in Arizona-a good place to visit in the winter if you live in Iowa! My youngest brother still farms in Minnesota. In what part of Iowa do you live? Hope you enjoy our online community. Keep those motorcycle photos coming! You have a couple of beautiful bikes.
Sandi T, My humble hovel is near the Quad Cities. Been here for 30 years, except for a short expat gig in UK. I lived in the West Midlands (Solihull) for three years (2005). Quite satisfactory. No bike, but you can't have everything. Image is from Meridian, the sight of the post-war Triumph factory. All housing district now. Some delightful names of the roads, including Bonneville Close and Daytona Drive.
Terrific photo, Hobnail! And fun road names, too. I'm not that familiar with the Quad Cities area. I lived in north central Iowa (Lake View) until I was 7-year-old when we moved to the farm that my dad grew up on. And then it was the farm I grew up on. And then it was the farm that my nephews grew up on. The older of my "little" brother's boys will farm the farm with my bro eventually and he will be the 5th generation to farm the family farm. My dad and the older of my two brothers both attended Iowa State and were "Cyclones"! Again, welcome to a great forum. I hope you get enough of a break in the Midwestern winter that you can ride a bit or, if the bikes are winterized, that spring comes early!
