As some of you may know I have been looking after my mates Explorer XC whilst he was holidaying in the USA. I had his permission to use the bike whilst he was away. He was due to return last Wednesday. However I heard on Tuesday that he had been involved in an accident on the way to the airport. He is now in hospital with fractured legs and other cuts and bruises. Because he has family close by he will be staying in the USA until he's fit to fly. Thank goodness that he had good holiday and health insurance.
I hope to see him in the New Year when he comes to collect the Explorer. I get to use it until then.

I certainly intend too. I am buying my own Explorer XC next spring, but I now have a pretty good idea what they are capable of.

Looking at your posts in the "what did you do with your triumph" thread...Did he realise that you were going to try and put 6 figures on the tacho when he said this??

I must admit Crispey that I have put on about 1500. I didn't check the odometer before taking it out the first time. However Gavin does the same when he gets custody of my Trophy SE. Mind you once I get my own Explorer XC things will be a little different.

Heard tonight that my mate Gavin will be returning back to the UK in early January. However I get to look after the Explorer for a few more months whilst his bones heal.

Just been informed that my mate Gavin will be remaining in the USA until the end of the month at least. His legs are not mending as quickly as expected. I'm keeping his Explorer in tip top condition and putting a few miles on it.

You have to remember that if you do not put on at least 200 miles per month the Explorer engine seizes solid, never to be freed again................

    Best wishes to your mate.

Also there is a 3 month weaning period that can only start after the bike is re-introduced to its owner, The lasting psychological damage could be disastorous should it be rushed.

Hopefully I will have my own Explorer XC by then. However I might have two of them in the garage at the same time. I've got Gavin's Explorer until he's fit to ride again.

Had an update last night. My mate Gavin is still in the USA recovering from his injuries. He now expects to be flying home at the end of March.:). I get to keep his Explorer XC for a few months longer;).
