Due to the actual weather here in Austria I am using now gloves by Vanucci. The model VANUCCI VTC SPECIAL. With this gloves I am able to ride at temperatures down to 7.5 degrees Celsius (45,5 F) without my onboard heatgrips. They are fully waterproof too.
What kind of gloves are you using?

Very nice Markus, they look well made.
I have a regular Triumph flag pair, but I am wearing my vented summer pair currently.

I also have a touring pair for cold winter days or major tours

Everyone tolerates cold differently, has different hand widths, ride durations etc, so recommending gloves is always a bit dodgy but at this time of year I move to heated gloves, I don’t like having to plug into the bikes electrical system and I have a few bikes so I prefer battery powered gloves, I’ve used RST paragons for the last couple of years and they are pretty good, on the highest setting the rechargeable batteries last approx 2 hours, I carry a spare set of batteries with me in case I’m extending my ride, you can get these gloves for about £160 if you’re patient and shop around, spare batteries are around £25 a pair, they won’t suit people that do really long trips, but ideal for my weekend rides.

Might be a daft question, has anyone ever tried shoving a gel pocket warmer in the glove when it gets really cold. Just wandered if it was a budget way of doing it.

I have a pair of gauntlet style winter gloves made by a company called Bilt. Cycle Gearbcarries them here in the States for around $40. I’ve been out riding while it was snowing with them and it was tolerable if not comfortable.

Rukka Virium in the winter (not super warm but excellent with heated grips) and Rukka Forsair for the summer for me. Oh and Revit Monster 2's when I'm in a leather mood.

Bought some Keis heated gloves but found them too bulky and a faff with cables

Nothing is. Imho. I just used to have spare pairs because the waterlogged bastards never dried for the next shift
I hate choosing between funny and agree ;)

I can honestly say that the Rukka Fiennes Gore-Tex gloves that I posted earlier in this thread are totally waterproof. :):)

I use beez wax to waterproof my gear, including gloves.
Rub on and use heat gun to melt into leather

Everyone is different. I don't like to spend big money on such stuff. I use a 3 glove system.
Summer...leather cruiser style gloves ( £6 from eBay) colder ... I wear those under cheap leather gauntlet style gloves ( God bless eBay again) ....rain. ....Spada overmitts on top of the lot.
If it's really cold I switch on the Oxford Hot Hands.
I ride long distances all year round. ( Other than this coming winter...there's just nowhere to go this year and nothing to do when you get there.)
But I don't do cold and wet. Just not acceptable at all. I need to know I'll end the trip warm dry and comfortable.
I take issue with those who equate big spending with best results.
For me the above system works very well.

I have the Merlin Saros mixed glove:
    https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/350020

Great price but let me down a bit yesterday as was still just in double figures temperature wise I believe. My hands still numbed up after an hour with the grips at 50% heat. I usually put some tight thin gloves underneath but didn't think I'd need to. Bit disappointed.
