Ive seen people upgrade from the linked gear shifter to a fixed one. I think made by sun?

My question is which one to go for?

I think a yz one comes to mind?

Can someone help and also let me know if it makes much difference.

Will shifting be easier with riding boots?

I would try adjusting your present setup first with the adjuster rod :)

If you have an 05-10 model, the best solution is the lever off the 02-04 Speed triple (or 02-06 Daytona). I have done this mod on 3 speedies that I've owned and the shift feels much more direct, than the remote shifter, especially after the remote shift linkage gets a bit of wear in it.

I gather the change from 1 down/6 up to 1 up/6 down is an easy transition. I understand GP riders do this to avoid their foot dragging near the tarmac on an up-shift

    I like this idea :)

Yep, I stand corrected. I thought moving the lever up moved the gear sprocket clockwise - wrong.

    Cheers for the clarification.

So I just take a lever from a 02-04 Speedie and it works....

Good luck finding a cheap one. They're rare as rocking horse shit.
