I recently found a brand of fuel that sells 93 AKI octane , (98 ron ) a touch more expensive but the engine purrs smoothly and responds a bit better 92AKI is more abundant and it is ok once upon a time only 87AKI is available and the engine vibrates more noticeable and becomes a bit sluggish So seem the tiger likes higher octane fuel What's your experience on fuel octane ?
Here in the UK they've moved to E10 95 Ron from E5 95 Ron for unleaded. Both my bike and car return better mpg figures using E5 97 Ron super unleaded so that's what I use as it's cheaper to use the more expensive 97 Ron than the 95 e10 stuff because of the better fuel consumption
Interesting, I'll pay attention to the fuel economy next time I use higher octane, but it is not available everywhere, it takes some effort to find it
It's not available at every fuel station here either. I use Sainsburys which is a supermarket as theirs is 97 Ron. There are others from the main fuel companies like Shell, Esso and Texaco as well as other supermarkets but they tend to be 99 Ron and more expensive than the 97 Ron stuff I use but they don't display the price on the big signs outside the station just those for normal unleaded and Diesel so it's a bit of a pain trying to find the cheapest
I always use Shell V-Power in my car as well as my bike. Independent reviews seem to confirm that there are decent detergents in the V-Power stuff as well as the better economy. These chaps have a decent phone app if you want to find local fuels by type etc - https://www.petrolprices.com/
I've noticed the price gap between standard unleaded and super unleaded is widening. Presumably because more people are starting to use super but they don't make as much of it.
I use 98 here in aus the millage is better though is close to 15 cents dearer than 91 it also has an injector cleaner mixed with it
