Hi all, I've done loads of searches but cant find my specific problem. It's on a 2005 Tiger with 44k miles.

Symptoms are: no reading on fuel gauge (full tank), fuel pump doesnt operate, MIL and fuel lights lit, OBD scanner and tune ecu wont connect for diagnostics. Bike turns over, battery is known good. Fuel sender unit replaced with gen part, still zero reading. Kill switch is on run. Clutch switch and side stand switch both good.

    Help!!!!

And a dodgy battery connection might give similar symptoms.

Happily eliminated battery connection as a possibility.
I have bought another ecu, awaiting delivery. In the week the bike has been parked in the garage, the issue appears to have rectified itself, as the bike now starts and runs perfectly. I hadnt done anything to it for 3 days pending the delivery of the ecu.

    How very strange.
At least when it was dead you had things to investigate and test. Now you'll probably be waiting for the next time.
Had a random fuel gauge fault in Belgium last week needle on my Tiger 955i went rapidly to empty then back to full a few times.
Only fault I found was one led brake light had fallen apart. A friend told me that when LEDs start to fail they emit radio signals which interfere with all sorts of things.
Don't know if he's correct.Replaced the bulb and been symptom free since though.

I’d have a good look around the ECU connectors for any signs of moisture or corrosion.
It could be that it’s been wet and has now dried out while sitting in the garage.

Welcome to the forum BTW. :grinning:

Fault came back today. Swapped ECUs, fired right up. Swapped back, same issue. This photo shows state of the ECU I removed.
    Hopefully sorted!!!!
Thank you everyone for your input.

At least the ECUs aren't pricey.
My old Guzzi Californias used to blow them regularly and they were £600 each..if you could find them!

Yep had to replace an ecu on my Griso a year ago £350 second hand - apparently a bad earth to the ecu kicks off all sorts of random faults that come and go - could well be similar for triumphs ?!

Bad earth, reversed polarity, phases of the moon.etc.
In the end with my Guzzis I used to keep a stock of them when I found them on eBay.

Hmmm..... Now we have 'Brexited', I wonder how long before guzzi parts are even harder to prise out of the Italians hands than it is already. Never known any manufacturer more reluctant to satisfy its fans or dealers, or get things mechanically right from the start !!!?? Ohhh - there is the new V85TT, hoped by many to be the saviour of Guzzi but woefully underpowered. But i love Guzzis despite all their faults - wierd .......

Sadly I'm not allowed any more Guzzis....my Beloved can't stand to see a grown man cry and throw spanners about.
