I seem to have trouble finding the "zero position" for both the compression and rebound adjustments. As far as I know I have turn them all the way in and count the clicks unwinding them. I seem to have overtightened the compression one because it started to turn the preload adjuster, then I unwinded it scared of having damaged it. It still clicks etc. 1. Do you think I have damaged the adjuster or any internal components? 2. How can I find the zero position properly? I am also scared of stripping the bolt head since it seems to be made of a soft material, and any tips to prevent that would be greatly appreciated. Never liked to play with my suspension. For me I would recommend taking your bike to a specialist. Might cost, but you can be confident it is set up correctly for you.
Sounds like you did over tighten it. It should be obvious when the adjusters bottom out. Don't use any force. All the way clockwise is position zero. You could have damaged the bottom of the rod a bit but I wouldn't worry about it. Will probably still work fine. The bottom of the adjustor rods have a point on the end that fits into a small holes on the bottom of the damper unit. Rod deep into hole restricts oil flow. Screw it out and it allows more oil flow.
As Linx said, the adjusters don't need any force. Watch at around 5.00s, he uses his finger tips to turn the allen key....

Is it also possible that I coul have damaged the holes that the needle goes into? I hope I have not damaged anything.
There seem to be clicks even after I encounter some resistance. I just went to check if the suspension is still functional and if there is any difference in compression resistance in between different positions of the adjuster but I can not seen to tell if there is any. Am I being paranoid? It seems unlikely that the needle is detached from the or something since I feel resistance thorugh the adjuster at the upper most and lower most settings.

I've just seen the comments! Looks like you've found this clip already. He says it is broken but can be fixed with a fork rebuild. I think this will be your course of action. Good luck.
Hahha you must have seen the video comments. By the way, is it possible tp induce this kind of damage to the rear shock, where the adjsutöents are made bu turning a wheel? It does not feel like it will since it has hard-stop.
