Hey everyone! Greetings from South Wales. Just wanted to introduce myself as I'm about to get my hands on a Thruxton R. Looking forward to sharing adventures and gathering tips. Cheers!
Nice bike indeed. I nearly went for a faired version until i discovered the clip on height differed between the 2.
Hi, and welcome. There are a couple of things you might like to look at. When I bought my R the suspension was on standard settings, both the the front and rear were too harsh (to the point of being uncomfortable). I changed the fork oil to a much lighter grade and up'd the preload to set the statc sag right. On the back I up'd the preload to middle setting and turned the damping down. This made the bike much more comfortable on our bumpy UK roads as well as improving the handling. I also de-catted the exhaust, de-snorked the airbox. Makes the smoother as well as sounding nicer! Be aware of the 12 minute Adaption process if you're doing any minor changes to the intake or exhaust.
Hello and welcome. Great looking bike. Whereabouts in South Wales do you live. Spent quite a lot of time there myself.
Thank you all for your replies! Managed to catch a break in the rain last weekend. Still getting over the incredible ride - quite a head turner too!
