Just retired early - and have several friends who are restoring their youth buying old Ducatis and Jota etc. My only issue is that I came to biking late - when I was 33, so I do not have that dewey eyed feeling about 2 stroke oil, expansion chambers and leaking oil. My first bike was a 900 Trophy ( I was old before my time) but really wanted a speed triple at the time - but I thought the were shockingly full on. So I have bought one - And they are not! (and I do know the mirrors are the wrong way round ) They are not any more ... Also the huge Remus has gone ...
on the list to do:- Wheel corrosion - trying to touch up at the moment - but I think they will have to go to the powder coaters Front fork dive - at MCT at he moment being rechromed and re-sprung New ( to me) aftermarket shock to go in Exhaust has been change to SP engineering on Battery will be up graded Disc bolts all need to be replaced as they have be attacked by a blind monkey with a hammer. Getting them out could be challenging ... and then ride it ....
Welcome to the forum, Mr Moofo! Great bike and thanks for sharing the photos of it. I had to laugh, though, when you said you came to biking late. I came to biking much later than that--two decades later actually. I'm looking forward to more stories and photos about your Speed Triple. I'm part of the Speedy family, too.
It's alright, there is a few of us here, I have the same, just with an extra cylinder and a fairing. Congrats on the new to you T300!
Welcome. I may see you on the road. Brighton, MI is one of my weekend destinations for lunch after riding to through Hell and back.
Hello and welcome from a fellow Mk. 1 owner! I've only just caught up with this thread and notice that you don't have the fork protectors fitted. If you want a pair of these they are still available and Total Triumph have them 'on offer' (!) at £10 per pair but with £8 postage. If you want some, let me know, I'll get a pair and post them at cost so I should be able to save you a few quid. More money to put towards fuel to ride? BTW, Fowlers list the same part at £44 (plus postage!). Good luck with that 'to do' list!
