So as I'm sure most of you know me and the Bonnie never got on so it's being traded in.
But fear not my Triumph Buddies, I've only gone and bought another Triumph.
I was looking around the showroom whilst mine was having the cabling recall done and I foolishly sat on a Speedmaster. Wow so comfortable.
The dealer guy said we have a secondhand one. One year old with 1000kms on the clock. I asked for a test ride and he wheeled it outside for me. 45 mins later I was doing the deal.
Miles more comfortable than the T120, seating position great. Really liked the laid back positioning of the pegs and although there was just a little hint of jerkiness Inthe throttle it's no where near as bad as the T120.
So I'm getting it with the Gel seat, luggage rack and screen and I collect it when I'm back from Germany.
    Very happy.
Sorry Dilli it's a red one
    Here she is

    Absolutely gorgeous Nikki
    I think it’s a brilliant bike
Red would have been my second choice :)
For slow speed manoeuvres like when you’re in a crawling traffic jam or tight spots I think it’s the easiest bike I’ve ever had and only ever have to put my feet down at a stand still :)
It handles brilliantly but watch out on hair pins and mini roundabouts the pegs are very easy to get down  doesn’t upset the bike at all but I find it a bit disconcerting
Hopefully you’ll love it as much as I love my NUDGER :p

Well as Nudger is regularly the subject of double entendre on this forum, maybe you should call yours Fanny! o_O:cool:

    Reds the best colour.

Will we see her in England' for the GMU or don't you have enough time to apply for a visa (Brexit, an all ).

Well Waspy is booked on the ferry, but if the weather is going to be good I might just sneakily bring Nelly instead.

Real nice bike. Fantastic picture. Love the grin. Triumph and Nursey are working on a cure for it. As people have said it becomes permanent. Do get used to the machine before doing all those miles. I used to have the blue version and loved it to pieces. That was till a taxi did a uturn as I was passing him.
Enjoy the bike & ride Safe
    Joe.

Congrats Nikki, loving Nelly. With Nudger and Neno, we have the set of colours.
Great touring bikes and you can use rain mode around town to reduce the jerkiness

Thanks. That’s a good tip. I’ll try that on the T120 before I get shut

If you're getting Triumph's longhaul screen, be aware that fitting it involves removing the the top fork yoke so it isn't practical to keep removing and adding back for different riding uses. Just mentioning that in case it affects your plans.

I use Dart's flyscreen on my Speedmaster, which whilst still leaving my head in the wind makes motorway speeds comfortable.

I am in the same boat. Purchased a lovely 1200 and could not for the life of me get used to it. But couldn't put my finger on it. Threw money at it in abundance but still found it all wrong for me. So traded it for the 900 and love it to pieces.
    Regards
    Joe

Thanks BM but once it’s on, it’s staying on. This is still going to be a toy but a far more enjoyable one, and one I’m going to ride a lot more. Waspy the VStrom is still my everyday bike.

Yep know what you mean. As soon as I sat on the SM it all felt lovely. The position of the bars, the comfy seat and the forward foot pegs
