So having passed my DAS last week I have bought my first "big" bike. Went to Peterborough and bought a 2015 Street Triple R. I think it was fate as it was exactly what i wanted including extras. Maybe i have paid a little over the odds but at £6.3K i was happy enough. So my wish list was: - - Street Triple R - Matt grey colour scheme - Arrow exhaust - heated grips - bar end mirrors (had to buy those separately) - anything more was a bonus I will be picking it up tomorrow from Peterborough and riding the 50 miles home to Herts. The only down side is the weather is expecting to be terrible tomorrow so its unlikely to be an enjoyable ride. I have been finding it hard to sleep since i put the deposit down on Monday, i find myself thinking about it all the time, i am even dreaming about it. Is that weird?
Hi Ray, that's a great first big bike. You're a lucky bugger !!!! Not sleeping before picking up your new bike? Absolutely normal - you'll fit right in
What a great feeling waiting for your new bike, you are not alone. I'm waiting for mine, pick up next Tuesday!
Awesome! I felt exactly the same this week, night before picking my Street Triple up. Also had lashing rain on the ride home, rode incredibly cautiously! Enjoy it chap!
Congratulations on passing your DAS, you will definitely enjoy your triumph, ride safe mate and welcome to the nut house
Hey mate, I am 57 been rider more than 40 years & still get that feeling when a new bike is coming. A truly great first big bike, I love them, just give yourself time to get to know her before going too quick, but ride whenever you can & enjoy!
Perfectly normal...if your not out having fun on it your in the garage modifying it..the rest off the time thinking what else can I do do it..
Congratulations on your first big bike. Rain or shine the ride home will be great I’m sure. Safe riding.
Picked her up this morning. I am not going to pretend I enjoyed the ride back as 50miles on the motorway with horrible winds was not nice. On the bright side it did not rain. Gonna have a more leisurely rude tomorrow as the wind would have died down.
And I thought it was just me. The day after picking my 765 up by trailer I was in the garage at 06.00 on a Sunday morning waiting for the roads to defrost. It was November after all lol.
I put a deposit down on the same bike yesterday, but I'm not collecting mine for 2 weeks. It's after I woke up after dreaming about the bike that convinced me to buy it.
Gonna need a couple of new tyres soon. Trust me, you think it’s brilliant now, stick a couple of new boots on it & you’ll be blown away
Got my first new bike rode it 200 miles too San Diego on the way got the flu sick as a dog stayed the nite than went home bike ran great but i sure didnt lol
