Hi all. I have a 96 Trident 750 CRK. The fan has been removed and I'm looking to put 1 back as she runs a bit hot in traffic. Can anyone tell me if the fan is the same for the 900 Trident/Sprint/Trophy. Cant find 1 for the 750?. Cheers Nick
Well, it's not listed separately on Fowler's parts diagram and I've always thought of the 750 and 900 Trident as the same machine with different barrels/pistons/rods. I'm pretty sure you'll find the fan assembly from a 900 Trident will fit OK. The only question mark might be for the Trophy with its full fairing but, if anything, that would work better! Fowlers parts list for the Trophy uses the same exploded diagram and part numbers for the fan for the Trophy and Trident. If you can find one from a 900 T300, then go for it.
All the 885cc variants are built from the same mechanical , electrical and structural parts. It's the ancillaries that makes the various models !! Triumph started out making bike's with as few as possible differing parts as possible , but making as many visibly different models as they could !!! Different models were often only paint colour change and better brakes/suspension ?!?!
Hi. Been a while soz. Thanks for replies. All sorted now. Unfortunately as of Friday a car pulled out on me and has trashed the CRK. Probs gonna have to replace front end. Any ideas of uprated forks I can fit to her. Cheers in anticipation
Bloody OW!. Hit him at about 40mph side on. I flew over bonnet. Not impressed. Got off lightly considering . Broken thumb the worst.
Hi Nick, just wondering if you managed to find any solution to the uprated forks as I'm looking to upgrade mine. Cheers!
Hi Paul. It turned out the front end was OK, bar the clocks and headlight area was mashed. The fork just needed loosening and straightening up. So didn't need to go down that route. Did lookat 1050 speed triple fronts, they seem to fit. Cheers Nick
Ah I was eyeing up the 1050 tiger forks as I'd like to keep as close to the 150mm front wheel travel as possible but can't seem to find enough info. The bike has come to me as a project so won't take much to strip down and get some measurements but thought I'd put some feelers out. I'm basically on the fence weather to strip and rebuild current forks or upgrade
Yeah. I was the same. I prefer the right way up look,so left it. Have done new seals and oil. If I was to upgrade, I would have gone upside down full front swap. Im an engineer so making things fit doesn't faze me. Decided to stick in the end.
