    Morning all (@Mark TGR9)

Not been this way for a good while so could do with any pointers please (short notice as I’ll be looking to leave in an hour). To get the boring bit done I’ll be coming in towards Chester on M56 then thinking to go round the A56 and pick up the A5104 near Broughton and follow that on to the A494 to Bala. Then a short double back to take the A4212 up to Trawsfynedd then right up the A470 to Pentrefolas and take the A543 to Denbigh and A541 to Mold to complete the loop.

EDIT - I’ll check back and see for any suggestions when I get near Chester - Thanks

A couple of good routes are the pass from Bala over the top to the A483 or Lake Vyrnwy. Look for Pont Ty-nat in Google maps. Another one is the back road into Machynlleth. Take the B4518 and then onto Forge Road.

So took the Fireblade over the Runcorn bridge, M56, M53, A55, A483 passed Wrexham and Oswestry. Turned right on to the A495 at Llynclys Crossroads and followed that then B4396 & B4391 to Bala. Cracking road and scenery over that route and stopped in Bala for a brew and butty.

From there went A4212 towards Trawsfynydd but turned off about halfway on to the B4391 and followed it to Ffestiniog. I was told that the B4391 is the best road in North Wales and I’d not argue against it having now ridden it.

From Festiniog went North on the A470 through Betws-y-coed to Conwy. Stopped at the Marina (was like the Welsh Riviera) for a pint of lime & soda.

Time was marching on so opted for the A55 back to Chester and then home.
