Hello guys I have been seeing ads for the sale of motorcycles in your country and you have very affordable prices there. Like this... https://www.ebay.es/itm/Triumph-daytona-900-1995-/294116104529 Does anyone have any experience with exporting motorcycles to the continent? Do you know any of the necessary paperwork? I have been looking at shipping to Spain and it is not too expensive, between € 800 and € 1000.
Never had to do it, but your best first place to visit is your local ITV station. I think you can re-register to a Spanish matriculation after passing a test there. I guess you'd need to change over the lights but not much else on a bike. When I enquired a few years ago I think it was a little over 100 Euro. If you do buy a foreign bike, try to get the Certificate of Conformity which was supplied by the manufacturer when new. Not vital, but very useful in these matters. It's a guarantee of type approval, for example.
You really believe it? The distance from London ( for example) to Seville is 2200 km, the expenses would be ... -Flight to London -Fuel 2200 km -Eurotunel -Meal and accommodation for at least three days. -Toll I don't think you can do that for less than 800 euros. Of course, as an experience it is priceless.
I was asking about the paperwork to get the motorcycle out of the UK, the procedures here in Spain are clear to me. Here in Spain to export a vehicle you have to notify the General Direction of Traffic, with that and a contract of sale is enough. Is there something similar in the UK? Try to get the Certificate of Conformity is a great idea.
Can be done pretty cheap tbh. Flight to london (one way) 60 ish euros, ferry from portsmouth to santander (one way) 200 euros fuel is then 850 km to seville so bike depending. Definitely fun as I went to jerez the same way (but without the london flight of course)
Hola Kraken I believe it’s maybe not a great save buying the bike in GB but a nice road journey it is indeed. Cheers from Gran Canaria
Que tal Vikingo Tropical In the Daytona that I put as an example, savings may not be the main reason for purchase, but in Spain, directly, there are none for sale. About 3,000 euros for that bike, with 14,000 miles, it doesn't seem to me cheap, it seems to me like a gift. Regards
Have a look at this one: https://www.milanuncios.com/motos-clasicas/triumph-daytona-900-cambio-347947173.htm
I had already seen that ad, that man does not even know what he has, that is a Trophy, nothing to do with the Daytona that I am looking for. Believe me when I tell you that I have been looking for Speed Triple and Daytona for many years and have seen very few ads and none at a good price.
