You ok with your T-shirt getting Posted? There are a couple of folk who have asked for me to bring their T-shirt/Hoodie down to Kielder,if there is anyone else who wants me to do this for them can you PM me
I make and sell printed kids clothing online, bibs, bodysuits, t-shirts that kind of stuff - you should be able to fold the t-shirts up so they can be posted as a 'large letter'. Pop them into one of them mailing bags and depending on the weight (I'm guessing it'll be heavier than my stuff) so it'll be over 100 grams. You'll only need two large 1st or 2nd class stamps, depending on how quickly you want them to arrive. Sean.
cheers i'll look into it and see if i can post them as a large letter..according to the price list i've got from royal mail a large letter up to 500g (i think that should be ok for a t shirt) 2nd class is £1.54 apposed to the small parcel price of £2.85 which covers up to 1kg. although i did take a t shirt down to the post office and asked them what would be the cheapest way to post and they said it would be a small parcel, i'll be putting them in poly post bags are you able to call that a letter?
i think last year the majority did want them posted so i only had to bring a few down so it was fine, but i thought i had better give everyone the option incase posting is not suitable for whatever reason
Absolutely, I've been using those poly mailing bags for 3 years and ALWAYS send them as large letters, even abroad. As long as you fold the t-shirt correctly so it's nice and flat and it fits through a letterbox then it can be posted as a large letter. Just buy the large stamps and the bags and you don't even need to go through the post office. Just package them up and pop them in a post box. I'd check the weight first just to be on the safe side, I just use kitchen scales at home.
is there a restriction on the size of a letter (apart from the width so it goes through a letterbox) say if it was 14 inches long?..i already have a load of poly mailing bags so woudn't need to buy them
Here you go. 14 inches is 35.5 so should work. Thickness will be you main concern but you 'should' be able to make it work. I can send multiple items in one package and still fit them through a letterbox. As your package won't be rigid even if it's a bit over 2.5 cm thick it'll still have a good chance of fitting through the letterbox. Try it on yours and see.
Loser/ Sean it's very flattering but don't forget some of these guy's tshirts probably use the same amount of cotton as you'd use for a years supply of kids ones
There is a third alternative Dougie. Folk can have a nice ride up to Blairgowrie and pick their own t shirts up
Post Paul's and mine to me. But check first if Aleks is coming and if he wants one, then include his too. And nag figwold and say stop being so curmudgeonly and buy one too, even if you're not a fan of the design - it's all about brotherhood and the m/c crew, man. Then add his to the parcel too.
