    Hi guys

Am I just not looking in the right place ? or is it a secret ?

I'm having difficulty finding info on the electrical specs for the newer Triumphs, Battery size Ah, alternator output, what power is used in running the bike ?

As over the years I've had one or two electrically challenged motorcycles its hard to weed out the ones that wont cut it.

Yet even Triumph don't list the electrical spec anywhere I've managed to find.

And anecdotal evidence from here seems to suggest that unless the battery is fully charged starting can be an issue, so running extra lighting and a satnav could become a problem ?

Anyone know where I can find the info

Might help if you tell us which Triumph you're talking about.

Well I'm currently looking round at the 2008 on Bonneville range with the 865 motor and some of the older models too but its hard to decide with less than half the info I want.
I'm also still in the process of trying out bikes where and when I can unfortunately we only have one, not so interested agent in the south of Ireland.

Just had a look in the owners manual for the Bonneville and the battery spec in on page 136.

    Battery Type YTX12-BS
Battery Rating 12 Volt, 10 Ah
    25 Amps at 1,000 rpm

Thanks for that but Triumph have updated the handbooks to reflect the newer 2017 Bonneville & T100, 900cc and 1200cc ranges. Is it possible to still find the older handbooks on line for the earlier models 2008 - 2016 ?

Managed to find one, a thai version in English that gives the alternator output at 25A @1000 rpm & 26A @ 4000 rpm a whole 312 watts to power all the electrics into a 10A battery. Is there any known upgrade for the alternator fitted to these models ?

Does anyone regularly ride one of the earlier models in the dark ?
what is the headlight like Good, Bad or indifferent ? does it need to be supplemented for dark country roads ?

    Hi Oldyam,
Just do the regulator wiring mod, direct to battery directly from alternator via regulator, it increases flow through of current and voltage by 14 to 20%, as the wiring through the ignition/loom is a bit too small/fine and resists flow.
