Been reading a few different opinions on here about EBC HH Sintered pads "eating" discs.
If this is the case then, what do you recommend instead? ;)

Cheers SJ any loss in stopping power?

I heard GG on rear. HH on front, only HH on front eats the disc.

Hi JTD, that question is a bit like "which tyres are better for ABS-equipped bikes" ?? The Organic pads have a different feel feel and bite and some riders prefer them to HH pads. The Triumph original pads would be equivalent to organic pads - but that doesn't mean they can't be improved upon. Also this business about HH pads eating front discs - you have to be riding like Rossi to be using your brakes hard enough to make any meaningful difference in wear.

    A little perspective here maybe......................................

Triumph pads are perfect replacements....I've just put 2 front sets on my tiger. But at almost £60 they are expensive....However. I did get nearly 18000 miles out of them
For my thruxton rear I used ebc hh but they had to be sanded down using 60 grade sandpaper as they wouldn't fit because they had too much pad material on them so....you pays ya money & takes your choice

    Hi Thruccyboy,
Just as a matter of interest, how much material did you have to sand off ?
Did you measure before and after ?
I have just fitted EBC HH back and front on my Bonnie and while having to push the pistons all the way back they did fit without any issues.
I did give the pistons a real good clean and took the reservoir cap off to relieve the hydraulic pressure

I didn't measure how much but the pistons were right back but the disc was running hot after 1/2 mile.

For future reference....I'll be sticking with triumph ones....none of my bikes are racing type bikes except maybe the superdream, so I'll go OE in future

Generally I buy EBC brake shoes ( good quality make). Normally I put HH on the front , never had issues with excessive disc wear with any bike I've ridden.
Even if there was I prefer the stopping power of the HH so I would put up with the wear at the end of the day.
So like everything it comes down to choice and what you are willing to put up with :)

on my old girl it wasnt the wear that was a problem it was the juddering as you come to a stop

I have just this weekend replaced the rears with EBC organic
The pads are a lot thicker than my previous ones which were Brambo HH.
The EBC Orgs have a good initial grip and plenty of feedback for normal riding.
When I used HH on the front, the initial grip is good, but as you slow to a stop, they would judder quite a bit - not just hte noise but I could feel the vibration. I used copper slip on the plates but it wasnt enough. When I changed them to normal EBC pads, I had just as good initial grip but no juddering at all.

I took the barge on track at Cadwell, running decent mid-inters pace, using EBC HH on Brembo calipers.

I struggled on the straights, but noone at all did me on the brakes.

I've used SBS sintered for many years and several different bikes including my current one. Always found them to be excellent.
