    Hi all,

This is the connector that goes onto the evap valve, I am looking for a way to buy an identical connector, but then the male side of it, to make my own valve eliminator.
If I find the right connector, I will also post how to make the valve eliminator, but first things first: find the connector I need.

So anyone of you tech people: can you tell me what type of connector this is??

Usually these connectors have a small brand name on them somewhere, would at least give you somewhere to start your search. Molex sounds familiar but I could be mixed up with something else (happens quite a lot)

After a google, it looks like a bosch EV1 injector connector

Can’t recognise that one but I get my connectors from Mouser or CPC. Worth a look. As already suggested look for any identification marks on the one you have. Also note that lots of connectors require you to buy the bits separately (body and metal bits etc)... Male and female are often segregated too otherwise there would be lots of little connectors.

oh, I think I missed my tablets this morning...

    Found it...
Thanks for giving me the extra search phrases, that helped!
Its a Tyco connector, part no 106462-1.
    I've ordered it.

I measured the resistance of the coil of the valve, it's 26.5 ohm. I don't know how the ECU checks to see if there is something connected to the end of the connector, but I hope it's not too fuzzy and it will stop complaining about a missing valve at much higher values than 26.5 ohm.
I think I have to anticipate that a certain times there will be 14.5 Volts on the valve for prolonged time, so I need a resistor that can take the load.

HI guys, an update on the evap solenoid eliminator.
The connector came in and I experimented with a bunch of 1Watt 300 Ohm resistors I had.
It turns out, the ECU seems already satisfied with 3 resistors in series ( making a 900 Ohm load) on the solenoid connecter, so I settled for two of them in series, so they fit inside the connector where the wires were intended.
A bit of black silicone sealed it all off.

No fault codes so far. With the Evap canister removed I can now balance throttle bodies without removing anything at all!
