45 years of neglect and the owner was surprised the front brake was locked up.
6 hours into this and I finally got the piston out of the inside part of the caliper.
This is a good picture of neglect and what clean vs looks like.

I think a lot of bikes out there are probably suffering from neglect...
I'm kinda grateful for my crash as it gave me a chance to really look over it and it had been badly neglected...

    Nice job @Ron Ashurst

    Top job Ron! :)
They may have been neglected but it proves that the quality of those 45yr old caliper pistons. Is a f#ck sight better than it is on their modern equivalent!
Simply by virtue of the fact they cleaned up & didn't need replacing.

I cleaned my calipers and put in new pads front and back last night on my T100. I feel virtuous.

Replaced the front caliper on my 2002 America with something a bit better. The old one did not look too bad, but I flushed everything out and put new DOT-4 in. This winter I need to look at the rear. We don't have quite the issues with this in my dry desert climate, but the bike came from a seaside town [San Diego]. It had two owners down there before I bought it. ...J.D.
