I wondering if I need handle bar risers or adjust something. When I ride the bike, after a while my hands hurt on the pad/muscle lower part of my thumb by my wrist, it's the pressure, as I'm most definitely pushing on the bars a little, unless I make a concerted effort to negate this.

So, is best to pull the bars back towards me a little? Or get risers?

Your bike has a classic handlebar I Think.
First try to pull it toward a bit, if not enough just try another handlebar with a different shape (higher).

Thanks Hubaxe, I give that a try, and if that doesn't work I'll will start looking for different bars.

I have trouble getting ache in my middle back. I added about 3" risers and rhe problem was gone. Sounds like you have too much weight resting on your hands. Both my Legend and my America have this done to them. It depends on your body geometry. I am rather long in the spine ...J.D.
