Hi, My name is Milind. I ride the triumph street 765s 2019 Red model. Recently I found an issue when gradually increasing the throttle from 120 KMPH to 130KMPH (ZONE) there is a zone where the throttle is non-responsive. I need to wack open the throttle to take the bike out of that zone. This issue is not identifiable to the dealership and some of my riding buddies who are very hard riders so they don't find the difference. But something is surely wrong that nobody is able to identify. Could you please guide for what could e the next steps? Aside: I have an HP coarse Slipon. I am not sure if I started to encounter this issue after I got the aftermarket exhaust installed.
Hi Milind. Welcome to the forum. It sounds like a mapping issue but I'm not the expert around here. I'm sure you'll get some good advice. Pop your question in to the farea for your bike, or technical help, if you don't get an answer here. No everyone readys this bit of the forum.
Probably a mid range lean spot caused by the new shorty pipe. It'll need to be dyno'd or the ecu reflashed to compensate. Swapping back to the original exhaust will soon show if it's this.
At what RPMS does this occur ? Almost all motorcycles have a dead spot ! It's there because emission regs are so strict and noise pollution rule's cross over at certain RPMS, to comply the "tune" is affected , the ignition is usually retarded and fuel mapping is leaned off or over rich , this is mainly to reduce the Volume ... Noise of the exhaust ! Generally speaking , louder means power ! So there is a damped / flat spot mid range ie the road speed limit in town 50/60/70 km hr , this is usually in 3 or 4 th gear round town. But hwy speeds in top gear this can be anywhere from 90 to 130 kph depending on bike gearing !
