Hi all, new to the forum and I am hoping you guys and girls can help with this one. Last year my con rod shell on no.2 cylinder went bang and in doing so put the crank journal out of round so after searching the internet I found a decent replacement and put it on the back burner until now. So the issue I have when measuring the crank journal's they do not conform to any of the measurements on the workshop manual so you can select the appropriate colour coded shell. The crank journal is well within service limit however but not wanting to repeat last year's events I want to get the oil clearance bang on. So I have a internal bore measuring tool and I micrometer but I missing the how thick each shell bearing is so I can select the right ones. Does anyone have this information as all the shells I have at the minute are blue coded which if I got them will give me a clearance of 0.341mm well outside the 0.1mm max Clarence. Thanks in advance
No not purchased plastigauge as yet wanted to see if I could get the clearance correct using my measuring tools
