Hello,I'm new in this group.Btw i recently had some issues with my 2009 daytona. The previous problem is my r/r wiring was melted and it's overcharging. So I've replaced both the stator and the r/r with the cheap oem ones from my country.I used a rectifier from yamaha r1 because I've seen someone's done it on youtube so i thought it was a good idea.but i ended up blowing those rectifier. This time is the 3rd time i blown the rectifier. It will happen in no longer than 10 mins after installing new rectifier. So my point is does this problem is cause by using cheap stator that cause an overcharging output to the stator or anything else. You guys help is much needed.

Firstly you don't mention what battery you have on your Daytona, for example some people have fitted a Lithium battery, these generation Daytona's are not suitable for such a battery, they will fry the rectifier/regulator, and can cause overheating of both wiring and battery leading to failure and risk of fire. The standard regulator/rectifier are a known to be weak, when replacing always use quality products such as Mosfet, and specifically for your model, using ones designed for different machines can and do affect voltage, this can over or under charge a battery causing all sorts of issues. Before replacing anything check all the wiring and connectors for signs of overheating, if all is well then buy and fit quality replacements and you should have no further issues.
