Daytona 675 2006-2009 Heat Shield Help!!!

Right I've been scratching my head with this one for a few days and trapsing the internet I cannot find any information so some light shed on the matter will be extremely helpful.

When I bought the bike it had no heat shield on and came with the scorpion can which can be seen in the pictures, last weekend I purchased a carbon heat shield for my bike and either I've been done over with the measurements or I'm clearly missing a part somewhere.

As you can clearly see the bolts don't align and it seems something must be missing but I cannot tell what part I need or if I am to just make some custom bracket to fit this but surely there must be an easy alternative.

I beleive that you need this part at least.
There is mounting points for carbon part.
In stock heat shield mounted to the exhaust end can. Not to the tray.

The can I don't know if that is just loose fitted. But from what I can remember from my Boys bikes the can sits right under the light. I will ask him when I see him next as he has two racing machines and builds them regularly.
