Yes he did. When I confided to him that I had returned to the clunky bossom of HD... After a thrilling and permanent-smile-inducing test ride on saturday, I decided yesterday to sign an order for this (web pic, but that's how she's going to look): Iron 883. Yeah, I know our forum's namesake builds the Bobber... But since it is going to be brother in arms with my Bonnie, I like bikes with different characters and even though it looks rather low, I sit much better on the Iron than on the Bobber... Couldn't get over selling my Road King but it definitely was too heavy for my liking. This thing weighs a 100 Kg less. And I was surprised how nimble and agile it handles. They improved the rear suspension as well so it felt rather comfy too. So here I am: Exposed and vulnerable And happy!
Only pics, I am afraid: I'll be flying in to Manchester and come north with a car, being designated TEC and planning to have a marvelous time with DD as my local guide... But delivery is planned for next week!!!
Obviously not bought from Edinburgh Triumph then !! Nice one Winglad.... hope you have many happy miles on that fella
When alien folks like me say 'local' they mean: Still citizen of the UK as to their knowledge. I do not know, what tongues they speak in Kielder but I suggest, we both pool our translation capabilities and guess the rest. Besides: finding pubs and places is what matters most to me anyway As to the Massey Ferguson: I think I shall try ploughing my potatoe-potatoe field with it
A HARDLY GO-IDSON !!!!!!! WTF Winglad !!!!! That's as bad as joining a Triumph forum, then buying a BMW !!!! Looks shiny, had a go on an 883 Iron years ago, hope they have got a lot better You not fancy an Indian Scout?
Well Ron, I prefer the good old sat-nav. The last indian scout I tried, always got into my way on his darned mustang...
Am no bloody Glaswegian !!!! I have you know I am from Paisley, admittedly was Murder Capital of the UK a few years back, and were prone to stabbing each other quite a lot !!! But other than that, nice people
Hey mates, that was not a bad reception for a Harley on a Triumph forum! Shows how noble y'all are... And I am sure the Iron and the Bonnie are going to be great buddies in my garage. I will report back with in depth impressions but now I have to pose in front of the mirror with my brand new GMU T-Shirt: Just arrived this afternoon!!!
Hey Winglad, there is a fellow here in Arizona who puts turbos on Harley's. Then they go like a Triumph . Seriously though I have ridden both the Sportster and V-Rod turbos and they are outstanding....just saying. Congratulations on the new bike.
As long as you enjoy it Just expect to have the mick taken at the GMU Being honest I like the way most Harley's look , the price is a different matter all together. Hope you have a set of non metric spanners and sockets as I believe they still use the old standard.
Vhat is Dis!! , I Only just see this tread. Brave you say. you'll win the Iron cross for going public with that You germans do love a Tank Even if it is American . joking aside Best of luck with your new bike Danny Boy As my mum says "as long as your happy"
