What you peeps think of the CX400 I have the chance of buying a project bike next week. Just wondered what they are like for spares and working on. Not seen it yet so don't know the condition. But havee been told it has been stored for some time and is rough.

Thanks @Mrs Visor Yes it does look ok. But i do think they were imports to the UK so i worry about spares.

You're right there Joe, in the UK it was the CX500 but I'm sure you know that. Definitely an imported bike, You're right to be concerned about spares availability, though David Silver may be able to help there.

    Hi Joe,
I would be very wary of buying this if it needs any of the specific CX400 parts. David Silver do not even list this model in their model list.

The only other main source of old model Honda parts is CMS (www.cmsnl.com)
they are based in the Netherlands and there parts prices are hiked when importing to the UK by high VAT and postage charges plus the possibility of import duty.
Depending on what is needed this could be a very expensive bike to restore, and probably not worth what you spend on it when it is done. It might be better to look for a bike that is a UK model.
