    Hello folks!
I'm extremely new the the bike world and gotten myself a 2016 Triumph Street Twin! With that said I'm not as mechanically inclined but willing to learn.

I left my bike untouched under an awning with a cover and after two weeks I decided to take it for a ride. Turns on just fine. Let it run for 2-3 minutes and then kicked it into first gear only to shut off the engine multiple times. I checked engine oil levels and coolant. All fine. Any help? Because it keeps on doing it. Tried for 30 minutes till I gave up.. Thanks all! It's been cold where I live lately. So should I just let it run for couple more minutes? Kick stand is NOT down haha

As I'm looking at it, it looks like it's a magnetic kill switch. I found a little magnet stuck in the spring so I put it back in the slot that looks like it fits it and still no luck. I think I just read something about a recall for the street twin about it falling off.

Thanks all! That's my next move if I still can't get it started. It's just such a hassle and didn't expect it from a new bike less than 3 months. Hopefully they will pick it up from my place for free.

I was thinking of just bypass the whole kick stand sensor because of the safety stories I've read. If anyone has done such a thing, will you redirect me to a post about it or video? Thanks!

    Hi Billy and welcome!

Talking about bypassing that switch: I came back from a vacation the other day, stopped for food at a gas station, came back, started the bike, in with 1st gear and the engine shut down: I HAD forgotten to put the stand up! Happened the first time to me but I was real glad, this switch was installed...

Sure you don't want someone to attach a little wheel either side of the swing arm in case you forget to put your feet down when stopped at lights???
