    Hi Folks,
I have acquired a speed triple rear wheel 6.00 width fitted with a nearly new 180/55 tyre.
I know the later speed triples use 190/55 tyres on a 6.00 width rim but am I correct in thinking the earlier ones with a 180/55 tyre had 5.50 width rims?
Is the 180 tyre suitable for a 6.00 width rim?
    Thanks
    Taff

Yes Taff, it'll be fine. A given width wheel will take a range of tyre sizes, not just a single one. The danger comes when peeps try to fit a tyre which is much wider than the wheel. So for example if you had a 4.5" wheel and wanted to a 180 the wheel wouldn't give sufficient support and there would effectively be too much sidewall.

Thank ee Sir! Was getting a bit twitchy about it and its a shame to turf a new tyre.
