After enjoying Vulpes trip to the Alpes, I thought I would post a Kiwi favourite-the Coro loop.
Hills covered in forest, tight twisties, and beautiful coastal scenery.

Today a did half the loop, heading home, and recorded some scenic shots to match the maps.
Starting in Whitianga waterways, headed over the hills.

Around the harbour to Tairua’s cafes and family beaches, before the jump over the Kopu Hikuai ranges.

Those shots make it look like you've got New Zealand pretty much to yourself. :)

The population of both islands is less than Liverpool and is one reason why they’ve had so few covid deaths, you’re miles from your neighbours in some areas.

I think you may have your numbers a bit wrong there, unless you meant London, but the sparse population is definitely one of the appealling factors of NZ. Not to mention the amazing scenery.

Some was the remoteness of the locations, some time of day, and some luck (13 MC bikes turned up straight after the shot of two). Was a cracker Spring day with many bikes out, mostly going the other way from NZs main city centre, which I was heading to.

With many returns due to world COVID-19, we have topped 5million across the country. Approximately 1.7m live in Auckland City, 100 miles from Coromandel, which is 1/3 the size of London.

Brilliant thread, @Dartplayer! I've always wanted to travel to New Zealand and now am even more eager to see your home country.

What wonderful photos and I love the maps and information you provided, too. Plus your bike is looking very spiffy! I'll bet you had a blast on this trip. Thanks for sharing it with us! :):kissing_heart: P.S. And now I REALLY need to see some WATER!!! :p Yes, I love the desert in which I love but......

Thanks Sandy. Vulpes’ Trip and your message on loving water had me thinking how lucky I am to do this trip regularly.
The weather was perfect and I had no interruptions, so planning and execution was simple.:sun:
I love the water, but hate humidity, so always look at your reports to see 10% Humidity when we are at 80%. Auckland weather is changeable but no extremes.
Did you notice Batly, my mascot?

Such a beautiful area, @Dartplayer! You are very lucky and blessed to be able to do this trip regularly. I'm glad your weather was so good for this particular one.

I did not notice Batly! I went back over your photos to find Batly but can't get my eye on your mascot. Could you kindly point me in the right direction? ;):joy:

@Dartplayer you're very lucky to have all that natural beauty and great roads on your doorstep, so to speak.
That looks like a fantastic loop. Thanks for that...

Gorgeous autumn day, so a group of us did the full loop.
Started with a frost, so fingers were tingling at breakfast, but the day was clear and warm, perfect for riding.

Regrouped at Coromandel town for gas and coffees, then off across the top to Whitianga.
