Auckland Chapter wanted a weekend away, so it was time to ride the Coromandel Loop clockwise, with an overnight stay in Whitianga. Rain threatened, but made for a gorgeous day riding, although it definitely hot warmer as we passed midday
I had booked the Top Pub for lunch at 12:30, and we arrived right on time (good ride planning) even with yge more regular nature stops Bikes parked up, ready to party
After some quiet preparation a 10 person van booked and we were off to the local Mercury Bay Game Fishing Club for football, drinks and dinner
Full English on the BBQ and we were off to complete the second half, with minimal nature and gas stops
Looks like a great weekend on a great route. I was lucky enough to ride there with my son-in-law a few years back, me on a rented Versys 650 (really nice bike!) and him on his 690 Duke. We even stopped over in Whitianga!!
Love the photos! I wish I could find a ride out in my neck of the woods! I think that it would be fun to tour with some folks who enjoy a collegial ride in a pretty place. I'm jealous!
