Bit of a weird one this. Got my new 2011 Tiger 800 delivered today and it's great. Started checking a few things including the coolant level and found I couldn't see anything on the gauge / view window of the top up. Turned the handle bars to the left, took the cap off and found some coolant in but low so I bought a bottle and topped it to near the top. Even though it is full if i look at the gauge / view windows with the in and max lines I cannot see any coolant as everything is white. So my question is can anyone see their coolant in the window? and if so what is going on?
Hi MB, if you've topped-up the coolant in the header tank to the correct, don't be surprised if the bike coughed up some fluid out of the overflow pipe pipe. It seems as though they like it to be a bit lower than in the handbook. The level varies significantly with temperature - ambient and engine.
Thanks all. decided to syringe it out with a massive syringe and then refill to the right level. The coolant I have is blue and you just cannot see it. Weird!
Mine was just visible, just below the min mark when delivered. Since topping it up I can’t see it through the tank. Resorted to poking a flexible dipstick down the filler neck. Ken.
