Has anybody else had problems with the wheels on a commander 1700 the finish on the wheels is terrible i have never had a bike like it dont get me wrong its also the best all round bike i ever had i love it but the wheels look 5 years old with only 2000 miles on the bike i polish and polist but its the same a week later is powder coat my only option i spoke to my dealer who says triumph do not cover this as they know it would mean replacing all of them regards Trev aka moaning git lol
Hi and welcome in, ah 'they all do that sir' is the most bloody annoying response to an quality issue!
Why not get Trading Standards involved? I would say that it is unacceptable on a £xx,000 motorcycle. Car owners would not tolerate it!
Triumph will probably say some thing, like, " you did not go out when it was raining" in the UK when do we go out then
Hi and welcome, my Lt is showing some signs of corrosion, but not serious enough to worry about. Do you treat them once you have polished them? If yours are bad I would push Triumph for a replacement. Wessa
Hello Trev and welcome to the forum Dam annoying when basically the dealer or is it Triumph themselves are saying “we’ve got your money,,,goodbye” So the dealer is saying “Triumph do not cover this as they know it would mean replacing all of them” is that not what warranty is for. Covers faulty workmanship and materials. I’ve mentioned it before that Honda had a problem with corrosion of the spokes/wheels on their new Africa Twin and they fitted new wheels with stainless steel spokes under warranty and all new A. T’s now come out of the factory fitted with the S.S spokes. I’d be taking it further with the dealer/Triumph don’t give up and if no success with them try other methods.
