Hi, in 2019 I bought myself a lovely (Caspian ?) Blue Triumph Sprint GT SE 64 plate. I live in the Peterborough area so if you wanna compare rides, Sprint or otherwise, especially triples ;D then buzz me and we'll go ride. In fact I've already done over 1000 miles on mine and found she's a real mile muncher, so if there's a road to some place, however far, I'm happy to whizz over there to kick the tyres n ride with a fellow Sprint / Triple / Motorbike enthusiast. Just be prepared cos nobody will look at your bike when they see mine all liveried up ;D This is hello and also help ;-) Just before Christmas I dropped my Sprint coming off a roundabout. Not fast, not much lean but rear tyre started to skate left n right and in trying to save it I got about as big a hit as you can at fairly slow speed and was slapped down hard to the left hand side ;-( Had put crash bungs on, and definitely better with them on, but still a lot of cosmetic damage and gear change lever bent and needed replacing. The rear hub cover on the left side of the swing arm picked up some scratching and paint from the white lines. Sanded back but now need a grey colour to match and paint it. I want my pretty girl to look pretty again ;-) Does anyone have a good, easy to source suggestion for a colour match please. Something like a Halfords touch up spray is what I had in mind but short of riding the Sprint down the shop isle to colour match it am a bit lost. Just need a colour as near as possible to match the original if anyone out there got a good suggestion ??? Thanks, ALEX
Hi Alex and welcome to the forum best of luck restoring your girls looks and post us a pic when she pretty
Thanks that's very useful. Fairing took a bit of a scratching at lower side. Not too visible but needs some touch up so thank you for saving me the grief of colour matching that What I'm also looking for, however, is a sort of gun metal grey to match the finish to the hub. Can you suggest a colour match or rattle can as @Duckadiledundee called 'em
Yeah I hope so too. I'll post a pic n you post a pic or we can get the bikes together n get a photo of both girls see who turns the most heads
Thanks to all those who chipped in even just to say hello. Appreciated. Didn't know what to expect but looks like I've landed in a good forum
Alex welcome! I'm in Norwich and have used Kett Auto Paints for touch up in the past. If you take your bike to their branch in Peterborough they will be able to exactly match it. I have always found them to be good in Norwich and very helpful.
Thanks Top Tip will give 'em a whirl tomorrow and see what they suggest and see what @Dozers Dad suggests and should crack it ! Don't want the repair to show if I match well n got a steady hand
Hi, sorry for delay, as my brother says, "I had shit to do" Can you do your magic n give me a best fit for the grey colour in attached images. Many thanks, ALEX
Welcome Alex, I hope you get it sorted. You should do with your knowledge and the expertise of the inmates. They're a good bunch.
