    Hi All,
Completely new to the biking world and i've just bought a 2017 T100 matt black.
Any advice on how to clean the matt finish?
Normal car shampoo? Just warm water?
Someone said Mr. Sheen works wonders on the finish after its clean, others have said don't polish at all after cleaning?

Any advice would be greatly received

    Thanks, Steve

As Liitleade says; normal car shampoo, chamois off, pet dryer (would blow your dog to bits!!) then finish with a liquid clear wax Turtlewax Ice, Liquid shine etc:)

Once clean and dry I use "Turtlewax Ice" clear liquid onto a sponge to wipe onto the paint and lightly polish off.

Comes as a kit with sponge and cloth !

Quick and easy to apply and looks great

Leaves no white wax marks or lines on the bike looks good and doesn't matter if you get it onto anything else because it dries clear ( you can use it on chrome or anything, I keep it off the screen ), after a couple of applications helps keep the muck from sticking.

The only Gotcha is don't get it on seat covers or twistgrips as its slippery as hell.
Great stuff been using it on my B*W RT fairings for over7 yrs now

Do not polish a Matt finish otherwise you NO longer have Matt finish.

Either leave it after wash and dry or use a silicone finish. We use Tunap 105 silicone if necessary when valeting at our dealership. It's cheaper and works better than the popular WD40 Silicone Shine.

We also use Vulcanet wipes on black and Matt finishes for quick clean between washes.

    Another vote for Vulcanet.

A mate has a matt finish bike and he's tried all of the above and they do work.

However, he won a pack of Vulcanet wipes in a raffle and despite saying he'd never buy them on cost grounds is now a complete covert having tried them.

Your choice of cleaning products is partly down to the quality and hardness of your water. If you're in a hard water area be sure to thoroughly dry the bike after a wash or you'll get water marks which can look unsightly and are a sod to remove.
