This is where brute force, a mallet and a few choice words gets the job done. Check the Allen bolt that stops it spinning is tight. They have a habit of coming loose

Allan bolt is rock tight. But looks like there's a lip that will stop the bracket sliding off. I've looked for a exploded diagram to check in right but can't find one

Lots (nearly a full can) of Wd40 and a hammer and I still can't bash the break calliper holder off. Has anyone got any words of wisdom that might help.

Can I also check that the calliper bracket( black bit in picture is definitely meant to slide off please

Yes slides off. try a bit of heat to expand it. maybe take out the allen bolt so it can rotate to loosen it

Good job done. how bad was the corrosion?
Next job is to do the suspension linkages. I expect at least 2 to be gone.

Be surprised! the top is a bugger to get out. You are there so do it if you can.
Top pin is about £80 so worth protecting.
