Just got a 2004 T100 and the carbs are pretty big for it, Keihin CR Specials, the fuel is running rich and there's a vacuum leak on one of the carbs. Any recommendations on smaller carbs for it?

Your bike would originally have been fitted with 36mm Venturi CVK carbs (constant velocity with 40/110 pilots and mains) rather than more performance oriented CR where the throttle directly lifts the slide. I assume you have other mods too that would influence the jetting?
It is cheaper to fix what you have that source replacements. If your CRs are 35mm you are on the money. The larger 39s might be pushing it. Although the Venturi is smaller than on the equivalent CVKs they are less obstructive to airflow.

Real nice machine there. You got racing carbs on there. Don't know what else the bike has had like cams pistons filter and exhaust. But if it is race tuned it should go like lightning.

Would run like stink; But only if the other bits have been done. They are for a racing bike. But surely if someone fitted them then they must have tuned the bike to accept them. And again they are not recommended for road use.

I rekon highly recommended for road use ! Even if the other work hasn't been done ! As long as they are jetted to suit that motor they will be fine !

The only difference between race carbs and road ... The race carbs won't have very good idle/low throttle response/running ! As the attention to tune/setup is all related to higher/full throttle running ! But they can be fettled to run and work well enough for road use ! They would just have taken much more time getting there !

Yes anything can be set up to run. But is it worth the effort. Don't think you will get jets to sloe it down. Its illegal for road use. When you can just get a decent carb second hand and re jet it to perform cheaper.
    Regards
    Joe.

A vacuum leak and its still running richo_O if that is the case the pilot system is set up or jetted wrong .

I've been thinking about this and why the vacuum leak caused rich running @ idle.
Cylinders and carbs wouldn't have been fuelling right , one carb would be seriously lagging ! Due to the nature of them being Special Performance Carburetors ,
Tip take off those stickers , and , Hey Presto street legal ;);) nudge nudge , no visible external differences to std CR cv carbs ;)
