I'm not 100% certain on this but I THINK the factory denomination for the colour of your SPRINT is Heritage Green. I think it differs very slightly from Tridents of the era that were British Racing Green - again, don't quote me on it, but the Fowlers web page for panels of the model shows both colours :-

    https://www.fowlersparts.co.uk/part...rk-decals-british-racing-green-heritage-green

The engine colour is likely to be even more problematic to match. I recall going on a very early factory tour in 1992 or '93 and one of the few places they wouldn't allow visitors was in the area where engine finishing was carried out - we were told that the finishing process was a new technology and a very closely guarded secret! Make of that what you will. Engine colours for the early 90's were mainly a standard 'silver' finish but the gunmetal grey and black colours were introduced in the mid '90s, I think. There's a thread on here (from many years ago but updated, I think) giving all the (known) paint codes, it's here :-

    https://www.thetriumphforum.com/threads/full-list-of-hinckley-triumph-paint-codes.1768/

Not sure that helps a great deal but good luck with it and perhaps if you do find something that's certifiably correct you could return and update all this?

Hi Alan -- looks the same as my Sprint. Have a look at this site:

    https://www.rsbikepaint.com/en-gb/colours.php

They seem to specialise in bike paints, and you just select your make, model and year and get a list of the colours that were produced.
Mine's a '96 and it gives British Racing Green Metallic, with Slate Grey Metallic engine.
Not bought any paint from them, so can't say how good the match is.

Adie P's link for the paint code list is pretty good too.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks very much , I will use your info and dig a bit deeper into this misnomer and of course I shall post any results either good or bad as I find out , I have a scrape on the tank , not big but would like a touch up pen or similar , my bike is 1997 so the gunmetal grey seems to be spot on and the green I actually thought may have been british racing green but now you have given me more info I have changed my mind , watch this space and thanks very much for the links etc

Glad the info was useful -- keep us inmates posted as to how good a match it is.
