The Mrs and I called in the RO yesterday about 17:45, it was quite busy so we had to sit outside. I had a pint of Sharp's Doom Bar which was very nice indeed, the wife had carlsberg with blackcurrant stuff in it (yuck). The wife had the BBQ chicken breast with chips and veg, the chicken is covered in bbq sauce, a strip of bacon and red leicester cheese then baked, she liked it. I had game pie with chips and veg. The pie was full of tasty meat and rich gravy with a lovely thin light pastry top, very nice. The chips were outstanding on the day, about the best I've ever had in a pub/restaurant. All in all you should be in for a treat later this week fingers crossed. The only bad bit was my wife's bakewell tart and custard which had a slightly burnt pastry base. Can't win them all though.
