OK, I have been working on putting biker friendly cafes on a POI map in MyRoute APP and I think I've finally got it together, yes I'll be missing some but hopefully you will be sending me updates
I have sent out invites to the group through MRA so if you havent received one and you want to be part of it let me know what name you go under on MRA and I will send you one. Please check out the messages list on the group when you get there
You will have to download the file to your satnav for it to work as a POI file

Ok, I didn’t explain this properly. It’ll be a file with a load of cafes on it as POIs that will load to your satnav so when you’re out touring and feeling hungry and lonely you will be able to locate the nearest cafe or one that’s en route for you to stop and eat or chinwag at
There are instructions in the messages section of the group

Great work Crispy:)just joined, i had a look at your message but to be honest it was too confusing for me:confused: i didn't have to do any of that ,when i clicked on routes there was a route called "Cafe" i clicked on that and then clicked on "use route" and it was saved in with the rest of my routes...I'll have another look at your message later when i have plenty of time and see if i need to follow any of your instructions

You’ll probably find that’ll give you a route not POIs Unfortunately the message thread doesn’t let you put paragraphs in so it makes it look complicated. I’ll try and repost them in here

The idea is good,i guess if i was touring in a certain area i'd have a look at the cafes on your map and just manually put them in as a POI when i make up a route..thats if i cant get it to work as per your instructions

    Cafe's for TomTom

I Use a TT Rider so loading to others might be slightly different

You will need tomtom my drive downloaded and your device registered on it

    Stage 1

in Myroute App go to groups and open Cafe Group (once a member)

Click on Routes on the top navigation bar and open cafe(*)

Click on save as then select .ov2(POI) from the drop down menu

This should then save the file wherever your downloads get saved, go check to see if it's there,

    Stage 2

You will need to connect your TomTom device to your computer and open TomTom My Drive

Click on your device then click on The Route Planner bottom right

This should open up a window with a map on it, under the search box are some symbols, hover your mouse over them and click on the "my places " one.

This opens a drop down and near the top is a heading "POI Files" click on this, at the bottom it says "import POI File" click on this then click on the select file button and navigate to where you saved your OV2 file, select that file and it takes you back to mydrive where the button has now changed to import. Click on that and follow the instructions

Once downloaded to your device you will find a your folder under "my places" on your rider, open that and it shows the list of cafes starting with the one nearest you

On The TomTom In the menu in settings and under Appearance, open "Show POI list on map" click on the POI file and then you will have any of these POIs show up on a route you plan here you can then select one and plan your route via it

    Cafe's POI for Garmin

    Stage 1

in Myroute App go to groups and open Cafe Group (once a member)

Click on Routes on the top navigation bar and open cafe(*)

Click on save as then select .csv(POI) from the drop down menu

This should then save the file wherever your downloads get saved, go check to see if it's there, It will look like an excel file

    Stage 2

You will need to connect your Garmin device to your computer and download POI loader from https://www8.garmin.com/support/collection.jsp?product=999-99999-12

once downloaded open it and follow the instructions remembering the location of your download

Once Downloaded onto your device you can restart your device.

click on "where to" on the home screen

find your categories section, open that and scroll down until you find the "other categories" heading. Under that should be custom POI open it.
If the list function is selected on the right of the screen the list of cafes should appear with the closest to you at the top with distance and direction. With the map tab selected it will give you a map with dots, click on a dot and the name of the cafe will appear and you can plan a route to there

Sorry mate. I’d guess if your phone has POI’s and you can download files to it then maybe.
Edit* POI does not stand for porn on iphone

The marker for the oilcan cafe is miles out. I will correct it when I get home. Use this HD9 2RD in the meantime
