Good. Sounds like you were just trying to let it heal by itself. A good ultrasound technician can tell you where tears are and of course a CT scan can see more. At the very least, physical therapy can help you get all of the muscles coordinated, as each one keeps the joint in alignment. The socket for the top of the humerus is very shallow. Try PT before surgery, always.
Sorry to hear the news Dilli, for once it sounds like you’ve made a sensible decision Hopefully you’ll start to get some treatment on the shoulder soon.
I'm hoping the delayed reply is because Dilli is getting a thorough examination by a top notch Doc or Euthanasia
Sorry to hear about this mate, what a bugger! - but as the others have said, I think you have made a sensible decision Hope you get the right treatment for the shoulder soon.
Basically I got to see a physio therapist Tried some physio and he reckons that it’s gonna take something else as well Waiting for an appointment to see about getting some injections If these and the physio doesn’t work then surgery will be the next step Let’s hope it doesn’t get to that Been told I have problems with my rotator cuff in both shoulders as well as frozen shoulder on the left side This has affected my neck and caused tension and soreness which in turn is causing headache and the lack of sleep due to the pain is not helping any of these This might be a bit of a hard slog But I don’t have to go to work Cos I lost my job
Sad to hear @dilligaf Hope you get your shoulder sorted. Was about to ask what was up with it, but see the question has already been asked. Must remember to read first and post after... Just caught up on your physio et al. Sounds like quite a lot of therapy needed. Hopefully its the first steps in the right direction. And at least you won’t injure it anymore at work?
Well you now know what the problem is, which is a start. Good luck with the physio and let’s hope you do not have to have surgery....
At least it seems to be fixable, Dilli. That's good news. As I said (somewhere) previously, a steroid injection has a good chance of sorting a frozen shoulder which is bloody painful - I know this! Hope the treatment works sooner rather than later.
Just noticed this Dilli, sh!t news , been in a similar situation with jobs and arthritic Joints , had a few opps to put thing right, all bearable now. Chin up mate it will sort its self out eventually.
Sorry to hear your news mate - but I feel you have made the right decision, this year has indeed been sh#t - get your health sorted and look forward to next season ( hopefully covid free) All the best mate...
Couldn’t agree more Dilli, chin up mate ! Hope your shoulder gets better soon and that new opportunities re work comes your way !
At least you know or are starting to know what's what, Dilli. And with no pesky job to take up your time you will have time to mend and to do your PT. There's always a silver lining in there somewhere even if you have to use a binoculars to locate it sometimes.
