    I have oil leaking from this seal which is broken and fallen out. Can anyone tell me what it is called so that I can order a new one. It seals where wire enters into the alternator cover. 2001 Bonneville 650 20250615_130100.jpg

    @Wayne 69 Welcome to the family. I take it you are after a new electrical Gromet to replace. Hopefully one of the wise one will be along soon and for the price of a big thanks they may provide you with a part number. Or try somewhere like Fowlers.

    Triumph 675 triples also leak from the wire grommet. I'd be surprised if a new grommet would be any better.

    Remove the case and apply a gasket sealant both in the wire holes and around the outside. Don't blather it on but ensure to coat the faces.
    Reassemble.
    Also ensure the engine breather is free to flow and not kinked or trapped anywhere, blow down it to confirm. This grommet maybe acting as a breather otherwise.

    Just clean up the grommet and mating surfaces use some decent RTV sealer, not the cheap bathroom stuff.

    Creative or true @Markus ?

    I've seen numerous things act as breathers when the intended item was blocked.

    @Eldon:
    I am not sure. But it sounds interesting.
