Hi all, Just working on the bike, got one of the rear brake pad retaining pins out no problems, looks like the previous owner mashed the head of the second one so I cant get anything to fit! Any ideas how to get it out?

    Cheers Dave

Get some wd-40 on it (assuming your putting new pads in). Do you have room to cut a slot across the head of the pin with a dremel? Then use a flat screwdriver. If the center of the pin is exposed between the two sides of the caliper you could try filing a flat spot on it and try to turn it with a pair of vise grips. Failing that you could try an anti-clockwise drill bit.
Where abouts in NI? I have some anti-clockwise bits if your stuck.

Hi Andy, thanks for the reply. I'm in Lisburn, I'm going to visit Screwfix or Halfords tomorrow and get a Hex Bolt extractor set, they're not that much, but thanks for the offer.

Update: Applied gentle heat to the rounded off pin, used a spline tapped it in and it unscrewed, result, thanks for all the advice.

Saw a guy on Youtube suggested using Coarse grinding paste in the end of the pin and then a hex socket, didnt work, he also said to use an Plastic Padding epoxy steel weld to stick the socket hex into the pin, that didnt work either.
