Is the RE a carb model. If so drain the fuel out of the carb, refill with fresh fuel and it may start whilst your waiting for your parts to arrive.
I’ve been ordering all sorts off eBay with no order delays, I am sure other delivery companies will deliver you a battery, sounds to me like you should get your lass to give you a right good kick up the arse which might spark you into life.
